Ep13: Disney Card Confessions | Sibling Rivalry with Leah & Sports Card Survival

If you thought our usual brotherly banter was chaotic, wait until you add our sister to the mix. Episode 13 of Wicked Good Pulls goes completely off the rails as Joe surprises us with our first true VIP guest: Leah, our sister!

Matt's New Obsession: Disney Trading Cards

Before the family reunion, we had to address a massive elephant in the room. Matt made a shocking confession: he is officially obsessed with Disney trading cards. After his kids literally had to drag him away from a Topps Chrome Disney display at a recent card show (The Collector Expo at The Great American Beer Hall in Medford, MA), he is fully ready to pivot into collecting. Naturally, this immediately inspired Mike to start hunting down vintage 1992 Disney packs for his own Whatnot streams. Joe is actively questioning both of our sanity.

Inside the Mayhem: Episode 13 Highlights

Here is a breakdown of the madness and key discussions from this week’s podcast episode:

Apocalyptic Survival Plans for Card Collectors

We forced Leah to listen to our highly tactical, dystopian survival plan for protecting our sports cards. While Matt handles food and Mike handles fire, we kindly delegated Leah to decorating the concrete bunker and petting the chickens right next to the slaughter table. Because, you know, priorities during the apocalypse!

Frankie’s Card Show Hustle

Leah gave us a mom’s perspective on her son Frankie’s collecting journey. It turns out, card shows are incredible for teaching kids real-world business and haggling skills—even if it means negotiating with adults over soccer cards. It's never too early to learn the art of the deal in the collectibles market!

The Great Whatnot Ethics Debate

We finally got a third-party ruling on our infamous Whatnot starting price debate (from Episode 6). Leah officially chose a side between Matt’s strict morals and Mike’s free-market capitalism regarding selling sports cards on Whatnot. The verdict? You'll have to listen to find out who won this round!

Hacking the Whatnot Algorithm for Max Visibility

Matt closes out the show by begging for bookmarks, explaining the exact science behind why pre-show bookmarks are the only way to keep the Whatnot algorithm happy. This isn't just about vanity; it's about making sure your show gets the visibility it deserves when selling your trading cards!
